Using this Blog:

I have enhanced the Blog with an option to select to receive it by email.  Just enter your email address in the field on the right of the main text.  Please let me know how this works.

Keep this blog address:  http://jhjhgc.blogspot.com.au/  and use it over and over to see our updates.

The Blog has a few extra features to access previous posts, a counter etc.

Also, I have worked out a way to get a map of Australia imbedded with a plotting of our trip so far.  I will continue to work on this.

Any suggestions or preferences about the Blog just let me know and I will see what I can do.

Next planned trip.

  • Start date:  Monday 22 April.
  • We plan to go north and go around Australia anticlockwise.
  • Around the end of September we plan to fly back from Perth for a couple of weeks.
  • Back home: around mid-December 2013.
That's about the extent of our plans.  Where we go and what we do: well that will be a surprise for all of us.

Key places we want to visit are:
  • Lawn Hill NP
  • Bungle Bungles
  • Gibb River (subject to road conditions)
  • north of Broom
  • Mt Augustus (largest rock in the world - bigger than Ayres Rock)
  • Lucky Bay and Cape Arid
  • Nullarbor
  • Flinders Ranges
  • Kangaroo Island

What we have done to our setup since we have been back:

Caravan:

  • Added second external fixed fold-down table
  • Installed external combination key holder
  • 12v water pump for water transfer
  • 12v to 240v pure sine wave inverter for small appliances and battery recharging
  • reduced camping table by one and taken out a lot of stuff we don't need

Car:

  • added flat mesh roof rack for carrying firewood, wet ground mat and awning sides, Julie, etc
So, we are ready to go and really looking forward to it.  It you would like to catch up with us while we are on the road let us know and we can see what can be arranged.

Facebook will continue to be updated but the full detail of our trip will be in this Blog.

We both look forward to and enjoy your emails so keep them coming this trip too.  We do like to keep up with what you are all doing.
